Am I a candidate for Xeomin?
Xeomin is a powerful and effective treatment but it may not be right for you. Xeomin is intended to improve specific facial again symptoms. If you have any of the following conditions, schedule an in-person consultation now with Dr. Mashhadian to learn more about Xeomin.
- You have horizontal forehead lines
- You have creases between your eyebrows (“frown lines” or “11” lines)
- You have begun to notice small wrinkles which fan out from the corners of your eyes (“crow’s feet”)
Xeomin can also help improve additional concerns you may be struggling with. For example, if you have a drooping brow line or you have what you consider “excess gums” ruining your smile, Xeomin can help. While these uses of Xeomin are not FDA-approved, you can still enjoy treatment with safety and results using Xeomin to improve these concerns. Does Xeomin have any risks?
All treatments have risks, including Xeomin. But Xeomin’s risks are very small and should not prevent you from enjoying its tremendous benefits. So that you are fully informed about your treatment, you should know that some patients may experience the following symptoms after their Xeomin treatment: headache, sensitivity around their injection sites, dry mouth, pain at the site of treatment, or neck pain.
These side effects are very rare and even rarer are vision problems after treatment. Also, some patients may be allergic to the injectable. Dr. Mashhadian takes patient safety extremely seriously. He will explain both the risks and benefits of your Xeomin treatment during your consultation and answer any questions you have about it, in full. Only when you are fully satisfied with the details of your treatment and with your consent will the doctor proceed.
Will Xeomin change my facial expressions?
Many patients are concerned that a neuromodulator treatment, like Xeomin, will negatively alter their facial expressions or, even worse, “freeze” their face. This is a very common and completely understandable misconception about the treatment. Yes, Xeomin reduces aging symptoms by limiting the movements of muscles responsible for these lines. But, Dr. Mashhadian — based on his significant, direct experience administering the treatment — will deliver only the precise quantities of Xeomin needed to the locations where it will improve your look most. A beautifully relaxed expression — not a motionless face — is the ultimate outcome. Also, it’s important to note that Xeomin is not a life-long treatment. If for any reason you are unhappy with your appearance, you can discontinue Xeomin immediately and, in a couple of months, you will have your pre-treatment look back.

A touch-up is as fast and effective as your initial treatment and will allow you to maintain your look almost indefinitely.
