A rhinoplasty does produce some bruising, swelling and discomfort, though most patients do not report much pain. Dr. Mashhadian will prescribe medication you can take for the discomfort.
The swelling and bruising will gradually fade during your recovery. That process can take anywhere from a few days to a couple weeks. Most patients find that the bruising and swelling subsides fairly soon after their rhinoplasty.
