THE ENDURING POPULARITY OF BOTOX

Whether you have never had a cosmetic treatment in your life or you are a regular fixture at your plastic surgeon’s office, you have likely heard of Botox. This tried-and- true anti-aging treatment has been turning back the clock for decades and continues to be one of the most popular treatment options in the offices of plastic surgeons worldwide. More than seven million Botox injections were performed in the U.S. in 2016 alone, according to statistics from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. There are many reasons why this procedure is still a frequent request at Rodeo Surgical Art today. HOW DOES BOTOX WORK? Botox is a prescription medication that contains slight amounts of the botulinum toxin. When this formulation is injected directly into muscles, it blocks nerve impulses to those muscles, relaxing them and minimizing muscular contraction. As the muscles become less active, the wrinkles caused by those muscles are also smoothed away. You enjoy fewer lines and a more youthful appearance without compromising your ability to make natural facial expressions. PROVEN SAFETY The FDA approved Botox for cosmetic purposes in 2002, but it was used long before that as a medical treatment for a variety of nerve and eye conditions. In 1989, the medication was first approved for treatment of eyelid spasms, also known as blepharospasm or uncontrollable eye twitching. In 2000, the approval was extended to the treatment of cervical dystonia, a painful disorder that causes unnatural head and neck positioning. Today, Botox continues to be used on the medical front to treat chronic migraines, overactive bladder and Bell’s palsy, among other conditions. Its long track record in the medical realm has now been shadowed by its effectiveness in reversing signs of aging. In the 15 years since its cosmetic approval, Botox has been shown to be one of the safest ways to smooth away wrinkles and other aging symptoms to temporarily create a more youthful appearance. FEW SIDE EFFECTS No medical treatment is without some risk or possibility of side effects, but the issues associated with Botox are relatively mild and short-lived. Some patients do experience bruising or swelling around the injection sites, which typically dissipates within a matter of days. There is also a slight chance of drooping around the injection area, but this risk is nearly non-existent with an experienced injector. Also, the effects of Botox are temporary, lasting an average of four months, so if you aren’t pleased with your new look, you won’t be sporting it forever. VERSATILE TREATMENT What started out as a procedure limited to smooth away wrinkles around the forehead and between the eyebrows has expanded to a full spectrum of cosmetic improvements. In addition to the forehead and glabellar lines, Dr. Mashhadian at Rodeo Surgical Art offers Botox injections to treat the following concerns: Fine lines around the lips, known as lipstick or smoker’s lines Drooping brow that leads to a perpetually weary, aged appearance Crease across the top of the nasal bridge, known as bunny nose Subtle lines around and underneath the eyes Gummy smile caused by raised, thinning upper lip Horizontal line underneath the nose Horizontal bands around the neck Jawline that is too broad or defined (in female patients) When you come in for your initial consultation, Dr. Mashhadian will evaluate your concerns and listen to your aesthetic goals to determine whether Botox is the best treatment option for you. He also offers a wide range of dermal filler treatments, which can be used in combination with Botox to produce the best possible results. COST-EFFECTIVE Compared to surgical procedures that involve anesthesia and an operating room, the simplicity of Botox injections also makes this a cost-effective treatment for many patients. While you will need to repeat the treatment regularly to maintain your positive results, surgeons like Dr. Mashhadian offer special packages on Botox and other recurrent enhancements to make them as affordable as possible. QUICK AND PAINLESS Botox injections take just a few minutes to complete. In fact, your initial consultation will likely require more time than the treatment itself! While the injections are not completely painless, they are relatively comfortable compared to other cosmetic procedures. Once your appointment is over, you will be able to resume activities immediately since there is no required downtime after Botox. In nearly all cases, no one will even know you just had a cosmetic treatment performed. You can schedule your appointment during your lunch hour and return to work right away with no one knowing where you spent your time away from the office! LONG-TERM BENEFITS Botox produces temporary results that last between three and five months for most patients. However, if you remain on track with your treatment schedule, you may find you can start to go longer between injections over time. It is possible that regular use of the medication will “train” your muscles to relax so you can maintain your more youthful appearance longer. Some individuals also begin their Botox injections at a younger age to ward off more significant signs of aging in the future. EXPERIENCED INJECTOR, SUPERIOR RESULTS To ensure the safest Botox procedure and the best possible results, it is vital that you select a plastic surgeon experienced in this treatment. When you choose Rodeo Surgical Art for your Botox injections, you will receive a complete skin evaluation and examination performed by Dr. Mashhadian. Instead of entrusting your procedure to a nurse or technician, Dr. Mashhadian is directly involved in all the Botox treatments done in his office, to ensure his patients receive the highest level of care and a superior outcome. His expertise also allows for treatment of a broader range of concerns, giving his patients even more anti-aging options from this single medication.

NONSURGICAL FACIAL REJUVENATION OPTIONS

Nonsurgical facial rejuvenation covers a broad group of techniques designed to make your facial skin and structure look younger and more refreshed. These treatments are an increasingly popular option for men and women who wish to restore a more youthful appearance without the incisions, downtime or financial investment of a surgical facelift. They can also be used to complement and enhance the result of a facelift for patients seeking a more dramatic transformation. Nonsurgical rejuvenation is most useful for subtle improvements or maintenance of appearance. These methods correct imperfections and signs of aging by replenishing lost volume, resurfacing the skin, tightening deeper tissues and restoring lost nutrients. They may be topical, injectable, laser-based or use ultrasound. All of these procedures take place on an outpatient basis with no need for an operating room or anesthesia. Many require no downtime and can be completed during your lunch hour, and some produce immediate results. With so many nonsurgical technologies and treatments available, it can be difficult to determine which will best address your needs. The extensive range of choices makes it essential to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon who can help you design the best possible treatment plan to reach your goals. At Rodeo Surgical Art, Dr. Mashhadian offers a variety of nonsurgical facial rejuvenation techniques that can be used alone or together to produce a more revitalized, well-rested version of you. M LIFT™ FACELIFT The M LIFT™, a revolutionary nonsurgical facelift procedure developed by Dr. Mashhadian, uses a proprietary combination of dermal fillers, anti-wrinkle injections, and skin rejuvenating treatments to restore youthfulness to the face without invasive surgery. There is no downtime. You should notice results immediately after the procedure that will improve in the weeks that follow. The basic M LIFT™ targets three critical areas of the face where signs of aging are typically most apparent: the jaw, the cheeks and the chin. An extended version of the procedure also addresses hollowing around the temple and lines in the neck. Each M LIFT™ is personalized according to the patient’s needs and goals. Dr. Mashhadian will advise you on the optimal combination of treatments for your desired outcomes during your consultation. ULTHERAPY Ultherapy is a noninvasive procedure that lifts and tightens the neck, chin, and brow while improving lines and wrinkles on the chest. Using ultrasound energy, Ultherapy addresses the natural decline in collagen that occurs with age to restore healthy tone, texture and hydration to the skin. The power is applied to targeted areas in which the patient is experiencing skin laxity, fine lines, folds or wrinkles, gently raising the temperature of the skin’s underlying layers to stimulate the body’s natural collagen production. Ideal candidates have mild to moderate signs of aging and wish to delay or avoid more invasive surgical interventions. Ultherapy is exceptionally safe, as it relies on ultrasound energy, and provides natural-looking results in as little as one treatment. INDIVIDUAL INJECTABLES Of these facial rejuvenation techniques, injectables are likely the most familiar. Dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections are useful for addressing a range of aging concerns and imperfections in the face, with results that are lasting and easily modified according to your needs. Even for patients who don’t yet require an M LIFT™, a subtle touch of injectables can go a long way to preventing the formation of aging symptoms, and maintaining youthful definition. Dr. Mashhadian’s extensive injectable repertoire includes: Botox: Botox injections improve the appearance of dynamic wrinkles (those caused by the movement of facial muscles) such as frown lines, laugh lines and crow’s feet by relaxing the muscles, so they do not contract. In addition to smoothing facial lines, Botox can be used to treat a gummy smile, soften a harsh jawline, reduce underarm sweating and provide a nonsurgical brow lift. Bellafill: Bellafill is designed explicitly for reduction of nasolabial folds, the creases sometimes known as smile lines that continue from the nose to the corners of the mouth. Bellafill may also be used to address acne scars, as well as imperfections in the nasal profile or contour of the cheekbones. Juvederm: Juvederm’s collection of dermal fillers can be used to reduce lines and wrinkles, plump the lips and restore youthful contours by adding volume to critical areas of the face. They are made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that delivers nutrients to the skin. Kybella: Kybella degrades and destroys fat cells to melt away unwanted bumps and bulges. It may be used underneath the chin, along with the jawline, on the upper arms, on the outer thighs, on the inner knees, and along the bra rolls. Other injectable treatments offered at Rodeo Surgical Art include Dysport and Xeomin for forehead wrinkles and frown lines, Radiesse to encourage collagen production, and the Restylane family of dermal fillers for wrinkle reduction and volume restoration.

RODEO SURGICAL ART: LASER SKIN RESURFACING

The skin is one of the body’s most remarkable organs. Our versatile outer layer acts as a guard against water, sunlight, bacteria, harmful chemicals and extremes of temperature. It’s packed with nerves that allow us to experience touch, heat and cold. It helps regulate body temperature and manufactures vitamin D for healthy bones. When injured, it heals itself by forming scar tissue. And despite all these critical functions, it remains soft and pliable, so we can move freely. Facial skin, like many other organs and processes in the body, changes over a lifetime. It becomes drier, thinner and looser. Sun damage produces wrinkles and age spots, while fat loss makes the face less plump and smooth. These changes represent a natural process that affects us all, but not everyone is content to let the aging process run its course. Laser skin resurfacing is a frequent method of rejuvenating your face and restoring a more youthful appearance. CO2 Laser Resurfacing offered at Rodeo Surgical Art can reduce the appearance of wrinkles, acne scars, enlarged pores and oil glands, warts, birthmarks and skin cancer by precisely removing damaged skin cells. The procedure can also tighten the skin and balance tone, resulting in smoother, tighter and more vibrant skin with just one treatment. CO2 LASER RESURFACING CO2 Laser Resurfacing channels short, concentrated beams of light to superficial damaged skin cells. This technology carefully removes outer layers of skin affected by blemishes or signs of aging with minimal heat damage to the surrounding tissue. Simultaneously, the laser heats the underlying layer of the skin to stimulate collagen growth for a smoother and firmer appearance as the treated area heals. CO2 Laser Resurfacing is a highly effective anti-aging procedure that can deliver dramatic results. Anesthesia will be administered to ensure comfort, and some downtime will be required to allow your skin to recover. THE PROCEDURE: WHAT TO EXPECT Laser resurfacing is an outpatient procedure performed at Rodeo Surgical Art by Dr. Mashhadian. During a 30-minute consultation, Dr. Mashhadian will discuss your goals, explain the benefits and risks of the procedure, and evaluate the area to be treated. If you choose to proceed with laser skin resurfacing, please refrain from smoking for a minimum of two weeks before your appointment and do not take medications or supplements that can affect clotting for ten days before the procedure. CO2 Laser Resurfacing may be used to treat the entire face or to spot-treat specific issues, like wrinkles around the eyes or mouth. A local anesthetic can be utilized to numb small areas, which can usually be treated in 30 to 45 minutes. For a full-face treatment, general anesthesia is required, and the procedure will take approximately one and a half hours. Following your session, the treated area will be dressed for protection. Further dressing changes, cleaning or topical treatments may be needed to safeguard the treatment area and promote healing. Swelling, itching, stinging and redness are normal. Approximately five to seven days after your appointment, your skill will become dry and start to peel. It is necessary to follow all aftercare instructions during this critical healing period. LASER SKIN RESURFACING RECOVERY Although laser resurfacing is considered nonsurgical, downtime is usually required. Recovery typically takes a week or two, depending on the depth of the treatment. It may take two to three months for the redness to entirely fade after the initial healing is complete. You are not required to stay home during this time, but as the skin will be red and raw, you may wish to avoid certain social situations or environments in which the risk of infection increases. Sun protection is essential during CO2 Laser Resurfacing recovery. Limit your time in sunlight as much as possible, particularly between the peak hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher every day. It’s also advisable to wear protective clothing such as long-sleeved shirts and a wide-brimmed hat. You may wish to plan your laser resurfacing treatment for fall or winter, when daytime hours are shorter, and more time is spent indoors. Keep the treated area well moisturized during recovery. Do not use Retin-A or glycolic acid products until cleared to do so by Dr. Mashhadian. Oil-free makeup can be worn once the treated areas have completed initial healing to hide any redness. Green-toned products are particularly useful for camouflaging red and pink. LASER SKIN RESURFACING RESULTS & RISKS Laser resurfacing results vary from patient to patient but typically last five to 10 years. By precisely removing damaged skin layer by layer, a CO2 Laser Resurfacing treatment reveals the more youthful looking skin that lies underneath and encourages the growth of healthy new skin. The procedure can improve: Aged or sun-damaged skin Acne scars Fine lines and wrinkles Birthmarks Warts Uneven pigmentation Age spots and precancerous lesions Complexion Enlarged oil glands Potential side effects of CO2 Laser Resurfacing include redness, swelling, infection, acne flares, cold sore reactivation, scarring, burns or changes in the skin’s pigmentation. In the hands of a skilled and knowledgeable professional, laser resurfacing is a safe way to dramatically improve your skin’s appearance. Dr. Mashhadian has been specially trained in this form of laser resurfacing to minimize risk and provide the best results possible. COMPLEMENTARY PROCEDURES Rodeo Surgical Art offers a variety of nonsurgical cosmetic techniques that can be performed in conjunction with one another to enhance your results. Dr. Mashhadian’s proprietary technologies, the M Pout Lip Augmentation and M Lift Facelift, are revolutionary treatments that use injectables to effectively enhance facial features and diminish signs of aging with no need for anesthesia, surgery or downtime. You may consider these techniques along with laser resurfacing if you are seeking a complete anti-aging transformation.

ARE THERE ANY POTENTIAL SIDE EFFECTS OF KYBELLA?

You exercise and eat right, yet the fat under your chin doesn’t seem to budge. Genetics, diet, aging and weight fluctuations can create stubborn fat pockets. None are more noticeable, or more difficult to disguise, than a double chin. Fortunately, there is an FDA-approved, one-of-a-kind injectable treatment to kill unwanted fat cells and eliminate it from the body: Kybella. At Rodeo Surgical Art, we are pleased to offer this fat reduction treatment to our patients, under the expert guidance of Dr. Mashhadian. Like all non-surgical treatments, there may be some side effects, which is why it is important to choose the right provider for your care. WHAT IS KYBELLA? Kybella was approved by the FDA in 2015 to treat submental fat (a double chin). It is the first of its kind—a dermal injection that destroys fat cells, thereby eliminating a double chin. Kybella is ideal for use in small treatment areas that contain concentrated pockets of fat; hence the reason it is an effective double chin treatment. Kybella is deoxycholic acid, a manufactured substance that is similar to what the body naturally produces to absorb fat cells. When Kybella is injected into the fat pocket under the chin, it destroys the fat cells. Over time the body flushes the dead fat cells out of the body. The double chin is eliminated, revealing a more youthful profile and defined jawline. AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE? Because Kybella is non-invasive and doesn’t require anesthesia, it can be an excellent cosmetic alternative for patients with chronic health problems who cannot undergo more invasive treatments or surgeries that require anesthesia. Before any injections are administered, you will have a consultation with Dr. Mashhadian to ensure that you are healthy enough for Kybella and to determine if Kybella is the right procedure to help you eliminate your double chin. Kybella is not recommended for patients who are or plan to become pregnant. Also, if you have an infection in or around the treatment area, you should postpone Kybella until the area heals. For patients with excessive loose or sagging chin and neck skin, it is important to note that Kybella can have some skin tightening effects, but may not get rid of the problem on its own. If tightening is needed and desired, additional procedures may be recommended, in conjunction with Kybella, to get rid of your double chin. WHAT ARE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS OF KYBELLA? Worldwide, the most commonly reported side effects following a Kybella treatment include pain, redness, swelling, numbness and hardened areas under the chin. In extremely rare instances, more severe side effects can occur, such as: difficulty swallowing, nerve damage in the jaw, open sores, damaged tissue and tissue death in the treatment area. A vast majority of patients found these adverse side effects from Kybella to be temporary, with any issues clearing up within 3 months. It is extremely important to be candid about your medical history with Dr. Mashhadian, who will ensure that there are no contraindications and can administer the treatment with the necessary care. If you have had prior surgical or aesthetic treatment in the area where Kybella is to be administered, Dr. Mashhadian will ensure that your treatment is provided with extra caution, taking into account any alterations to the anatomy and avoiding any scar tissue. If you have any concerns after your Kybella treatment, contact us immediately. MAKING THE RIGHT CHOICE Because of the potential side effects associated with Kybella, one of the most important factors when considering this treatment is finding an experienced injector. Rest assured that you have made the best decision by choosing Dr. Mashhadian and the expert staff at Rodeo Surgical Art for your double chin treatment. Dr. Mashhadian has both the artistic ability and medical knowledge to expertly and safely administer Kybella. Unlike other practices that utilize various health care professionals to perform Kybella, Dr. Mashhadian will personally consult with you about your treatment and administer your Kybella injections himself. As the King of Kybella in the entire Golden Triangle area, Dr. Mashhadian has had more experience providing Kybella than other providers in and around Beverly Hills, helping his patients achieve the results they want. THE KYBELLA PROCEDURE The area under your chin is cleaned and a topical numbing agent is applied. A grid is placed on the treatment area (think of how a child’s tattoo is transferred onto the skin with a wet washcloth). The grid strategically places dots throughout the treatment area to precisely guide where the Kybella injections are made. Dr. Mashhadian will gently pinch a dot on your skin and administer an injection via a thin needle. The needle is placed directly into the fatty tissue, making sure to avoid muscles and facial nerves. The process of pinching and administering the injection is very brief and painless. Dr. Mashhadian will continue this process across the underside of your chin, following the grid, until the desired number of injections are made. Small areas of fat may require as little as ten injections, whereas larger fat concentrations may require up to 50 injections. The entire Kybella treatment takes approximately 15 minutes. RECOVERY FOLLOWING KYBELLA Immediately following your Kybella treatment, an ice pack may be applied to the treatment area to reduce swelling and redness, and you can return to your normal activities. You will not have bandages, nor will you need to do anything special to tend to the treatment area. Just be gentle to the skin under your chin for a few days to allow the tissue to heal. HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED? Your Kybella treatment will be tailored to your specific needs and thus will determine the number of additional treatments you need to eliminate your double chin. The exact number of treatments will depend on the size and amount of unwanted fat you have under your chin. It is our experience that patients with very little submental fat may only need one or two Kybella treatments to eliminate their double chin. Patients with more …

IS BREAST AUGMENTATION RECOVERY PAINFUL?

A breast augmentation can be among the most valuable treatments a woman can have as an investment in herself. A woman’s breast appearance can help her feel whole, feminine, confident and energized. Her look, especially this aspect of her body, can truly have a transformative effect on her perspective and her life. While no surgery should be taken lightly, if you, as a woman, are dissatisfied with any features of your breast appearance, you can enjoy wonderful and immediate benefits by taking action now. This immensely advantageous surgery, however, like any surgery, has a recovery period, and concerns about this phase of treatment are often a primary reason women delay their procedure, despite its many benefits. A full understanding of the requirements of recovery and its temporary limitations can give women a much better perspective on this area of the surgical process, allow her to make a better-informed decision and also ensure she is fully prepared. With a complete understanding of her recovery, most women can confidently have their surgery and enjoy its results. View More Patients Results WHAT WOMEN NEED TO KNOW ABOUT BREAST AUGMENTATION RECOVERY To help educate you and help you feel more comfortable about your decision to have a breast augmentation surgery, here are a few of the most common questions women ask before their procedures. This is by no means a complete list. If you have a specific question you would like answered, call Dr. David Mashhadian at Rodeo Surgical Art. An experienced and fully qualified cosmetic surgeon, he would be more than happy to help alleviate your concerns. QUESTION NO. 1: CAN I DRIVE MYSELF HOME RIGHT AFTER MY BREAST AUGMENTATION? Unfortunately, no. After your surgery, which typically lasts between one and a half to two hours, you will still be under the influence of general anesthesia. General anesthesia is necessary to guarantee your total safety and comfort during the surgery. You will need to arrange for a ride home and this is a good time to call on a friend or loved one. Also, ask them for a little help around the house once you are safely at home. In the hours immediately after surgery, it’s most critical to get rest and protect your rapidly healing surgical area. If you don’t have help, make sure you have everything you need easily in reach, including heat-and-eat meals, so you won’t have to deal with meal prep or other necessities. QUESTION NO. 2: WILL THERE BE SCARRING AFTER THE PROCEDURE? The answer to this question is, it depends. For example, if you have a TUBA (trans-umbilical breast augmentation), the incision will be made in your belly button, which will be all but undetectable. If you choose an implant type that isn’t suitable for this particular scar-free technique, not to worry. Any incision made for your breast augmentation will be virtually hidden after your procedure. That is because Dr. Mashhadian uses the Keller Funnel technique to place your implants. In this technique, the implant is “loaded” into the large end of the Keller Funnel and pushed into the breast pocket through the smaller end, for faster and safer implant insertion. Think of icing on a cupcake: that’s how this technique works. This technique lowers the risk of infection, allows for a much smaller incision to be made on the underside crease of the breast, and also reduces potential scarring. In addition, Dr. Mashhadian can give you extensive tips and tricks to help you minimize your scarring and maximize your results. QUESTION NO. 3: WHAT EXERCISES CAN I DO AFTER A BREAST AUGMENTATION? Exercise is crucial to staying healthy, especially after surgery; however, you have to choose the right exercises for your stage of recovery so you can recover more quickly but also avoid introducing problems. During your breast augmentation recovery, gentle walking is often best; it places you in an upright position, encourages healthy blood flow and, like all exercise, can boost your mood. Start off by walking about 15 minutes at a time, carefully listening to your body, and gradually lengthen your walks as you are able. QUESTION NO. 4: WILL I HAVE TO TAKE A LOT OF PAIN MEDICATION AFTER MY BREAST AUGMENTATION? This is an easy question — although we’ll admit we’re biased. If you have your breast augmentation at Rodeo Surgical Art, you probably won’t even need any narcotic prescription pain medication during your comfortable, quick recovery. Dr. David Mashhadian is one of the foremost experts in breast augmentation nationwide and is conveniently located to help women in the Beverly Hills, West Los Angeles, Hollywood and Malibu areas achieve the breast results they desire and deserve. WHO IS ULTHERAPY SUITABLE FOR?

With less collagen and elastin in your skin each year, your face can quickly begin to reveal your age — or worse yet, make you look and feel older than you really are. Fortunately, you can boost the vitality of your skin with long-term results with Ultherapy, a revolutionary ultrasound treatment that delivers high-intensity energy safely to the delicate tissues of your skin. Ultherapy naturally boosts collagen and elastin and improves your skin’s tone, hydration and glow. Ultherapy makes an outstanding treatment, regardless of your age or symptoms, for many reasons. Ultherapy can prevent problems from occurring, help minimize early-onset aging symptoms and also provide deep rejuvenation to the skin. The procedure can even replace invasive treatments in the right candidates, for the ultimate in convenience and results. Having your treatment performed by an Ultherapy expert, such as Dr. David Mashhadian at Rodeo Surgical Arts, can further enhance your results. Here’s why anyone age 30 or older should consider having Ultherapy now. WHAT MAKES ULTHERAPY® SUCH A GREAT TREATMENT? Ultherapy is a fast, non-invasive treatment that can dramatically boost your skin’s natural collagen and elastin production, providing you with results that appear gradually, last and restore a vibrant, younger look. The technology uses ultrasound — the same technology safely used in obstetrics for decades — to warm the deeper layers of the skin gently, activating your body’s healing response. The technology is the only non-invasive treatment FDA-approved to lift the delicate skin of the face, including the skin around the eyebrows, beneath the chin and the neck, safely and effectively. You can also have Ultherapy to rejuvenate your décolletage. Ultherapy is not an immediate treatment but, in time, achieves dramatic results that are long-lasting and which reveal the best expression of yourself. As a non-invasive treatment, results are subtle because they work in the deeper layers of the skin, improving the structure of the skin, so you radiate on the surface, with smoother skin that also is better toned and hydrated. You can even finely tailor your results, as we do here at Rodeo Surgical Arts, by using the latest technology to simulate your post-Ultherapy results online. The added advantage here is that there are no surprises when you get your full Ultherapy results. DO I REALLY NEED ULTHERAPY IN MY 30S AND 40S? No doubt, you’ve heard this a time or two — prevention is the best medicine. Preventative care is also one of the best steps you can take to looking great now and for the long term. That’s where Ultherapy comes in. Ultherapy can boost your collagen now, keeping your skin beautiful from within. Rich with collagen, elastin and volumizing hydration, you can look best now while staving off future problems. You can also take the same approach with Botox®, which also pairs very well with Ultherapy. Of course, you could always wait until problems arise, but why not push that back as long as possible? Looking your absolute best in your 30s, 40s and beyond is truly priceless. HOW WILL ULTHERAPY IN MY 40S AND 50S HELP ME? For many of you, your 40s and 50s are truly your prime. You have achieved stability in every aspect of your life — and this gives you the opportunity and the freedom to have some fun and really start living. But let’s face it. Aging symptoms, especially on your face, start to hit their prime, too. In your 30s, Ultherapy makes a great way to prevent problems. In your 40s and 50s, Ultherapy is a great way to minimize the facial concerns you have, slowing down the progression of facial lines and laxity — and restoring a wow-worthy look. The development of aging symptoms on the face is inevitable. Time passes and the delicate skin of the face can’t conceal your age forever. However, you can look years younger with Ultherapy. In fact, for the right candidates, it might even replace a facelift. WHY ULTHERAPY IN YOUR 60S IS AN IDEAL TREATMENT Looking youthful and fresh well into your 60s is a challenge for anyone. Eventually, even if you are blessed with great skin, you may need some work done. This might include a neck lift, mini or full facelift. If you’ve decided to make this great an investment in yourself, why not reap the full advantages of it and increase and extend your rejuvenation by including Ultherapy in your treatment plan as well? Ultherapy is a fantastic complement to a facelift, for example, because it rejuvenates your tightened and smoothed skin deep in the skin’s layers, adding a refreshed glow to your new facial contours. Since Ultherapy improves your skin naturally, you’ll never look overdone, only revived. Had a facelift or neck lift a while ago? Ultherapy can plump up your skin and extend the longevity of your surgical results. FOR MOST, ULTHERAPY IS THE RIGHT TREATMENT AND RODEO SURGICAL ARTS IS THE RIGHT PRACTICE There is a difference between a medical provider who is merely competent and one who is exceptionally well-trained and well-versed in every aspect of the treatment and how best to deliver the results that are possible to each unique patient. This is one of many reasons to visit Dr. David Mashhadian of Rodeo Surgical Art in Beverly Hills. At Rodeo Surgical Art, after Dr. Mashhadian assesses you to ensure you’re a suitable patient for Ultherapy, you will be treated by our licensed and experienced Ultherapy, Cat Lee, RN. Dr. Mashhadian combines the skill of his comprehensive medical training with the artist eye and sensibility that is his own to bring you results that highlight your best features and provide you with the vivid, natural results that will get you noticed, not the work you’ve had done. Most importantly, Dr. Mashhadian emphasizes safety and best practices throughout each stage of your treatment so you can enjoy your results worry-free.

How Does Kybella® Work?

A sculpted jawline is often associated with professional confidence, personal health, and vital youth. Unfortunately, we’re all subject to the aging process, which for some means a double chin. The chin is the most difficult area to shape because it is unaffected by a healthy diet and exercise, and previously, the only answer was a face or neck lift. Now patients don’t have to choose between surgery or living with a double chin. Kybella is available at Rodeo Surgical Art for the treatment of double chins. How Does Kybella Work? Kybella’s active ingredient is synthetic deoxycholic acid. Our bodies naturally produce this molecule for the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. Kybella applies this principle to target fat cells and disrupt their membranes, causing cellular death. Your body then metabolizes these cells out of your system naturally. Your double chin is melted away, restoring a sculpted jawline without invasive procedures, long recovery time, or discomfort. While Kybella is FDA-approved for the treatment of submental fullness, it’s designed to target small, concentrated areas of fat. These fat pockets can occur anywhere on the body, such as under the arms, behind the knees, or the bra line. As long as the treatment area isn’t too large, Kybella can reduce the fat pockets. Am I a Good Candidate? Kybella is intended for reducing small, localized areas of fat, but it does not have skin tightening properties. Patients concerned about a double chin or other fat pockets who have realistic expectations are ideal candidates. Consult with Dr. Mashhadian to learn more information. What is the Treatment Like? Your treatment begins with Dr. Mashhadian marking the treatment zone with dots to guide the injection process for the greatest sculptural impact. Ice packs are applied to smooth fat cells and keep them stationary during the precisely placed injections. Kybella is then administered to the depth of the fat layer. Dr. Mashhadian takes extra care to ensure patient comfort, so you shouldn’t feel pain beyond the pinch of the needle. The treatment requires only minutes to complete. The number of injections changes based on the patient’s unique anatomy. You may need as few as 20 or as many as 50 individual injections.  How Long Do Results Last? We are born with a fairly static number of fat cells, and throughout our lifetime, we don’t produce more. Once your damaged submental fat cells are absorbed by your body, no new fat cells will replace them. That means once your double chin is gone, it is most likely gone for good. A healthy lifestyle will help keep remaining fat cells from growing in size, so you can enjoy a sculpted, youthful jawline for the rest of your life. Because the body takes time to break down the fat cells and metabolize them, results are not instantaneous. You can expect visible fat reduction after 2-3 treatments, continuing for 3-4 weeks after your last session. Is There Any Downtime? You may experience 1-2 days of tenderness at the injection site, but your normal, active lifestyle is not disrupted. Dr. David Shahram Mashhadian performs each Kybella treatment himself and is one of the most experienced cosmetic surgeons in the Beverly Hills, West Los Angeles, Hollywood, and Malibu area. Dr. Mashhadian combines his passion for art and cosmetic rejuvenation into his practice and treatment of his patients, and as such, is a highly sought after, renowned cosmetic surgeon. How Much Does a Chemical Peel Cost?

People have sought smoother, more evenly toned, and beautiful skin through chemical peels from as far back as Ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome. While the concept may be ancient, today’s chemical peels are anything but. One of the modern era’s most popular procedures, chemical peels offer a variety of depths for the results you’re looking for, and Rodeo Surgical Art can help. How Do Chemical Peels Work? While chemical peels may sound harsh, the treatment doesn’t have to be. Using acids such as alpha hydroxy acid (AHA, trichloroacetic acid (TCA), or phenol, chemical peels remove the damaged outer layer of the skin, where wrinkles, acne, age spots, pigmentation problems, sun damage, and other skin concerns reside. Deeper peels can even remove pre-cancerous cells. Once the acid is neutralized, a short recovery period is followed by a radiant, smooth, beautiful skin with improved tone, texture, and color. The face isn’t the only place chemical peels can rejuvenate. Stretch marks can also be reduced from the torso and sun damage from shoulders and arms can be reversed with the right chemical peel. There are also levels of depth. Light peels use milder acids to remove dead skin cells and smooth out uneven textures. Medium depth peels using TCA or glycolic acid are capable of minimizing some acne scarring, reducing most fine lines and wrinkles, and reversing sun damage. Deep peels using phenol acid involve possible sedation and longer recovery periods to reverse serious sun damage and treat pre-cancerous growths for the most dramatic results. Am I a Good Candidate? Ideal candidates are in good physical health with realistic expectations. If your goal is to reduce acne, minimize wrinkles, improve skin smoothness and tone, diminish age spots and reverse the effects of sun damage, a chemical peel may help you. Chemical peels can bleach the skin, so those with darker skin may require additional information about the specific kinds of peel best suited for them. What is Recovery Like? Recovery time hinges largely on the depth of peel you’ve had. Milder peels may require a few days of social downtime, while medium peels may take a week to see reduced redness and for any flaking to complete. Deep peels may require 7-10 days with extensive bruising and swelling. What Does a Chemical Peel Cost? The cost of treatment is about more than money. It’s an investment in your health and confidence. Price also indicates the quality of the treatment. Bargain basement prices may predict the quality of the technique and peel solution and result in an undesirable experience. Higher prices may mean the provider isn’t well established and must charge more for a smaller roster of patients. Dr. David Mashhadian is a highly sought-after cosmetic rejuvenation specialist, and his volume of business allows him to price treatments extremely competitively. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, chemical peels average around $673. Light peels may be as low as $150, while deep peels can rise to $3,000 or above. Your chemical peel experience with the Rodeo Surgical Art Team and Dr. Mashhadian cannot be replicated in the greater Beverly Hills area. His practice is built on a foundation of compassion, love for his patients and their satisfaction, and the highest standards of medicine and cosmetic aesthetics. Through technology and innovation, expertise and passion, Rodeo Surgical Art can help you change your life. Will I Be Able to Breastfeed After a Breast Lift?

Women everywhere cite their breasts as the primary body part they would change if they could. If you’re unhappy with the shape, size, or contour of your breast profile, breast surgery can be one of the best investments in yourself and your confidence. But for women in childbearing years, breastfeeding is a major concern. Let Dr. Mashhadian of Rodeo Surgical Art answer your questions. View More Patients Results The Breast Lift Procedure A breast lift repositions breasts that have sagged and relocates nipples that point downward rather than outward (known as ptosis). The goal is a more youthful, perkier positioning of the breasts that more closely match the patient’s body proportions. Each breast lift is tailored to the individual patient’s specific body profile, which, for some, may include the addition of breast augmentation to achieve desired results. The procedure is performed in Rodeo Surgical Arts’ state-of-the-art facilities, usually under general anesthesia, and may last for 3-5 hours. Dr. David Mashhadian performs the breast lift with mindfully placed incisions for minimal scarring to remove excess skin and contour the breasts for a firmer, more appealing shape. The nipples receive critical attention as well to ensure the size of the areolas and positioning and direction of the nipple conforms to the patient’s proportions and goals. The final result is restored breasts that are pleasingly shaped, properly located on the chest wall, and achieve the patient’s aesthetic desires. Am I a Good Candidate? Women who make the best breast lift candidates are in relatively good health while simultaneously experiencing drooping breasts lower on the chest wall, sagging or lax skin, and nipples that point downward instead of outward. What is Recovery Like? Dr. Mashhadian’s proprietary Recovery EXL system gets you mobile faster and without the need for narcotic pain management. Bruising and swelling may occur for a couple of weeks, and support garments during your recovery are critical for proper, comfortable healing. While your mobility improves in a week or two, strenuous exercise is best avoided for about 6 weeks. What Results Can I Expect? As bruising and swelling clear, the shape, lift, and size (if applicable) of your breasts will emerge. You should have breasts in a higher location on the chest wall that’s often associated with youth. If you’ve chosen simultaneous augmentation, you’ll have fuller breasts. Most women require only one surgery in a lifetime to achieve their desired appearance and breast profile. For women of childbearing age, pregnancy and nursing can sometimes alter the breasts’ appearance after treatment. Breastfeeding After a Breast Lift There’s no guarantee with any surgical procedure of a perfect outcome. That said, most women who undergo breast and nipple surgery are able to breastfeed. Breast procedures can potentially affect nerves and milk ducts within the breast, which can sometimes impact lactation, but it’s not a certainty. Innovative surgical techniques, even for relocating the areola and nipple entirely, don’t necessarily require complete detachment from these nerves and ducts. New pathways may even form to regain functionality and milk supply for breastfeeding. For some mothers whose breast procedure has limited lactation, supplementing their milk supply can maintain a baby’s proper nutrition while still giving all the benefits of breastfeeding and successful bonding. You don’t have to choose between loving the way your breasts look and breastfeeding. At Rodeo Surgical Art, you can have it all. How Much Does a Mommy Makeover Cost?

Motherhood is one of the greatest journeys in a woman’s life, but there’s no question it takes a toll on the body. Loose skin, a fleshy tummy, and sagging breasts can make a mother feel less confident in her body, even though it’s capable of amazing feats of procreation. Dr. David Mashhadian wants you to have the best of both worlds with a mommy makeover to restore your pre-baby shape and confidence. What Is a Mommy Makeover? Pregnancy’s demands on the body vary from woman to woman, so the mommy makeover procedure is fully customizable patient to patient. Rather than undergoing several procedures separately, a mommy makeover is a single-time procedure with multiple areas of focus. This saves significant amounts of downtime and specifically addresses each patient’s individual needs. Some common mommy makeovers include: Removal of loose skin in the abdomen Lifting the breasts Restoring breast symmetry and possibly volume Reducing stubborn fat pockets that have changed the body’s shape Am I a Good Candidate? Every woman’s circumstances and expectations are individual and unique. Ideal candidates are unhappy with aspects of their body following childbirth, have decided their family is complete, have fully recovered from childbirth, and their youngest is weaned from breastfeeding. If you’re healthy, a few pounds from your target weight, and wish to restore your pre-pregnancy figure, Dr. Mashhadian can help you decide if the mommy makeover is your next step. What Does a Mommy Makeover Cost? Because every mommy makeover is personalized, costs can vary greatly from person to person, and moms are especially deserving of the investment in themselves and their confidence. Because Dr. Mashhadian has carefully curated his patient volume, he’s able to offer extremely competitive pricing without compromising the quality of the treatments performed at Rodeo Surgical Art. A mommy makeover most typically consists of a type of breast procedure combined with an abdominal procedure such as a tummy tuck or liposuction. As such, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons places the cost in the range of $9,000 to $20,000. All procedures performed by Dr. Mashhadian are done in the state-of-the-art accredited surgical facilities using an MD anesthesiologist. Recovery from Mommy Makeovers with Rodeo Surgical Art Mothers, in particular, are concerned about a cosmetic procedure requiring a lengthy recovery and narcotics that may interfere with taking care of children. With Recovery EXL™, you don’t have to worry. For 15 years, Dr. Mashhadian honed this proprietary surgical technique to diminish pain from the procedure itself while speeding recovery. With improved outcomes for his patients, Recovery EXL™ often means little to no prescription narcotics and a much faster recovery with almost immediate mobility, so busy moms can rest easy knowing they can restore their pre-baby contours without missing a beat. Recovery EXL™ also means less risk of developing blood clots and other complications, so it’s safer for every patient, not just moms. Motherhood is a life-changing road to travel, but the toll you pay doesn’t have to be your pre-motherhood figure and self-confidence. The Rodeo Surgical Art Team and Dr. Mashhadian believe in the highest standards of care and quality outcomes for our patients, and improving the lives of mothers is particularly enriching for us and our patients. With our commitment to cutting edge techniques and technology, and creating an exceptional experience for our patients, we can give mothers the boost they so richly deserve.
