Butt Lift in Beverly Hills
A fuller backside has become a standard request at Cosmetic surgeons’ offices across the country. In the past, this goal could only be achieved with the placement of synthetic implants or transferring fat from another area of the body to the buttocks. Today, patients can obtain the volume they are looking for without surgery of any kind, using injectable dermal fillers to create the desired look. Known as non-surgical gluteal augmentation, non-surgical buttock augmentation or a non-surgical butt lift, this procedure is available by Dr. Mashhadian at Rodeo Surgical Art.
What is non-surgical buttock augmentation?
Dermal fillers have traditionally been used to enhance areas of the face, smoothing away wrinkles and restoring youthful volume. Now, this same technique can be used to improve the backside, creating volume and fullness that is both natural and long-lasting. Dr. Mashhadian uses Sculptra for this process, which is an FDA-approved filler primarily designed for restoring plumpness to the face.
The formulation contains poly-L-lactic acid, a synthetic substance that has been shown to stimulate the body to produce collagen. This essential protein supports the underlying dermal structure, giving skin its youthful fullness. Over time, collagen levels in the body diminish, leading to skin laxity, loss of volume and the appearance of wrinkles. By restoring collagen, treatments like Sculptra can reverse some of the effects of aging on the skin.
As a method of buttock augmentation, Sculptra works in the deep layers of skin and tissue to promote collagen production and skin thickening for a gradual result that is both subtle and natural. Some patients even find the procedure improves the appearance of stretch marks or cellulite due to the additional collagen created in the area.

Sculptra vs. Fat Grafting
Sculptra buttock enhancement is an alternative to fat grafting to augment the buttocks, a procedure that has become known as the Brazilian butt lift. This treatment removes unwanted fat from one or more areas of the body via liposuction. The surgical process can be performed under local anesthesia in some cases and the incisions used to insert the cannulas that remove the fat are relatively small to minimize visible scarring after treatment.
Once the fat is removed, it is purified and prepared for injection into the buttocks. The injections are strategically placed to ensure a smooth and even result. There is a recovery associated with a Brazilian butt lift, which is typically up to one week to recuperate from the liposuction procedure. Patients are also restricted from placing any direct pressure on the backside for up to six weeks, which affects your ability to sit or lie on your back.
In contrast, Sculptra buttock augmentation does not require any surgical procedure, which means no incisions, scarring or downtime for you. Injections take about 30 minutes as opposed to the two hours or more commonly required for a Brazilian butt lift. There is no recovery period, and you can sit on your buttocks soon after the procedure. Results of Sculptra buttock augmentation develop gradually in the weeks following the procedure, and a series of treatment sessions are required to achieve full results. The rounder, fuller backside should last for two years or longer before a subsequent treatment is needed to maintain your positive results.
Candidates for Sculptra Buttock Augmentation
The best candidates for Sculptra buttock augmentation are slender individuals that do not have sufficient body fat to use for a fat grafting procedure. The procedure may also be recommended for patients that are not good candidates for surgery or who don’t want to take the time off work and other activities to recover from a procedure. It is important to note that Sculptra buttock augmentation will not offer the dramatic results of a Brazilian butt lift, but the outcome can be just the backside boost some patients need to feel more confident with their body contour.
How it Works
Dr. Mashhadian performs Sculptra buttock augmentation at his office on Rodeo Drive. No anesthesia is needed before treatment, although some patients prefer ice or a topical numbing agent before the injections to ensure their comfort during the procedure. Injections are carefully placed where they will produce the most natural results. Patients can head back to regular activities as soon as the treatment is completed. The only common side effect associated with this procedure is tenderness around the injection sites, which should subside in a matter of days.
Long-Lasting Results*
To achieve the full results you want, you will likely need to schedule a series of treatment sessions. We typically recommend two to four appointments, spaced about three weeks apart. Your results will develop in the weeks following your treatment, with most patients seeing their outcome within about six months. Your fuller backside should last for up to two years before another series of injections will be needed to maintain your new curves.
