Say Hello to Beautiful Eyelashes
Wouldn’t it be nice if you had dark, thick, and long eyelashes without mascara, eyelash extensions, or fake lashes? With Latisse®, you can! Latisse® is the first and only FDA-approved prescription formula used to grow your real eyelashes and make them appear more beautiful and prominent. Dr. Mashhadian is thrilled to offer Latisse® to patients who are longing for longer, fuller, and darker eyelashes.
Latisse® Treatment
Bimatoprost ophthalmic solution 0.03% is the active ingredient of Latisse®. It is the same medicine used in Lumigan and other glaucoma medications and is effective in reducing eye pressure. One of its side effects is growing darker, longer, and thicker eyelashes
Using Latisse® is a breeze. Before you go to bed each night, you’ll need to apply the liquid solution on your upper lash line with sterile applicators. The solution will spread to your lower lash line automatically when you blink. You’ll find that applying Latisse® is very similar to applying eyeliner.
Dr. Mashhadian recommends that you thoroughly wash your face, remove any makeup and take out any contact lens prior to Latisse® application. In addition, he suggests using each applicator one time to prevent contamination or infection. In the event you miss one application, continue to apply Latisse® normally every night rather than applying more to try to catch up.
While results may vary, you will likely start noticing that your eyelashes have grown at 4 weeks. Believe it or not, you may have to trim your eyelashes at the 12-week mark because they’re too long.

Am I a Good Candidate for Latisse® Treatment?
You may be a good candidate for Latisse® :
- If you have sparse eyelashes
- If you wish you had thicker, longer, or darker eyelashes
- If you don’t like the idea of depending on mascara, false lashes, or eyelash extensions to achieve the lashes you love
- If you are willing to commit to a treatment plan at home
- If you are not pregnant and do not have a history of glaucoma or other eye disorders
How Long Does a Typical Treatment Take?
Although you may notice the benefits of Latisse® after three to four weeks, the full Latisse treatment typically takes 16 weeks to complete. You must apply the solution during this time to achieve optimal results.
What Results Will I See?*
Patients treated with Latisse® often see thicker, longer, and darker eyelashes, and eyes that “pop.”
As you progress through treatment, you’ll initially start to see changes in length. Then, slowly but surely, your lashes thicken and darken. Since Latisse® does not lead to life-long results, your eyelashes will gradually return to their previous appearance over several weeks to months if you stop using it.
Is There Any Downtime?
There is no downtime with Latisse® so you are welcome to apply the solution and resume work and your daily activities. While side effects are rare, the most common ones are redness of the eyes and an itching sensation. Skin darkening, eye irritation, and dryness of the eyes are other, less common side effects of Latisse®.
