At Rodeo Surgical Art, we offer a range of non-surgical treatments to help you remove the signs of wear and aging from your skin. We’ll help you choose the options that are right for your specific cosmetic goals.
Our Santa Monica patients commonly asked about the difference between BOTOX® Cosmetic and dermal fillers. Both are effective options for reducing the signs of aging, but they work in slightly different ways.
BOTOX essentially prevents the muscles in your face from receiving the signals that tell them to contract. These contractions cause wrinkles and crow’s feet. In other words: no contractions, no wrinkles.
BOTOX usually addresses:
- Crow’s feet
- Wrinkles on your forehead
- Vertical lines between eyebrows
However, some wrinkles are caused by a loss of volume under the skin, and BOTOX won’t be able to address those problems. That’s where dermal fillers prove useful in complementing BOTOX’s work.
Dermal fillers work by plumping the skin and filling in missing volume. They are especially helpful for:
- Filling in hollows under your eyes
- Plumping lips
- Restoring volume to cheeks
During your consultation, we will discuss your goals and which treatments can help you achieve the natural, youthful look you desire.
